Trinity Sailing is a Brixham-based charity which operates three large historic sailing vessels, carrying out a combination of youth Sail Training voyages and adult sailing holiday cruises.

Trinity Sailing wish to recruit a cook for the remainder of the Season, aboard Leader. This is a great opportunity to sail aboard, and options exist to move into a sailing role in the future.

Trinity require a Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate, and a valid ENG1 or ML5 medical fitness certificate (they can help with arranging this). An enhanced DBS check will also be required as part of the role, which will be arranged through the office for the successful candidate. The ideal candidate will have experience of catering for 16 people or more. Ideally this person will have some experience of sailing, but this is not essential.

The cook will be responsible for all catering and food/galley hygiene on board, providing three meals per day with suitable refreshments, home-made cakes etc in between. They will also have responsibility for victualling, with support and assistance from the shorebased office team. The cook will also have responsibility for some other domestic tasks on board such as linen and laundry.

During Sail Training voyages the cook will involve the trainees in preparation, service and clearing down after each meal, helping to give them an educational experience in the galley and teaching them new skills.

During adult charter voyages the cook will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of each meal, with help serving and clearing down from the seastaff, but the ability to manage the galley alone if necessary is important.
